Final results: Tokayev wins the presidential elections in Kazakhstan

The head of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov, said that the current president, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, won the presidential elections held in the country last Sunday.

Abdirov said at a press conference today, Tuesday: “Kasem Zhomart Kamilevich Tokayev received 6,456,392 votes, or 81.31% of the votes.”

He added that the participation rate in the elections was 69.44%.

Tokayev is expected to be inaugurated on November 26.

The second place in the presidential elections was taken by the candidate from the Avil party, Giguli Dayrabaev, with 3.42%. According to the Central Election Commission, the candidate from the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan Miram Kadzhikin scored 2.53%, the candidate from the General Association “National Alliance of Professional Social Workers” Kararat Abdin – 2.6%, and the candidate for deputies of the General Assembly “Kazakh mothers – Way. To Traditions” of Sultan Tursynbekov – 2.12%, and the head of the opposition National Socialist Democratic Party in Astana Nurlan Oyspaev – 2.22%. And 5.8% of voters voted “against all candidates.”
