Today, Sunday, the Syrian Football Association announced that a joint delegation of FIFA and the Asian Confederation will visit Syria to study the situation in the country and prepare for friendly matches.

The Syrian Federation wrote on its Facebook account: “FIFA and AFC will send a joint delegation to Syria in preparation for lifting the ban on Syrian stadiums.”

For its part, FIFA’s official website referred to FIFA’s decision on the matter, stating: “FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation have decided to send a joint delegation to Syria to conduct a security assessment regarding the possibility of hosting international friendly matches in the country. .”

The official statement on the FIFA website added: “Following the meeting in Doha between Gianni Infantino (President of FIFA) and Salah Ramadan, President of the Syrian Football Association, it was decided that the International Football Association will continue its efforts. with relevant bodies, including the UN, to take measures that would allow the full implementation of development programs in Syria.”

It is noteworthy that the International and Asian Federations have imposed a ban on the reception of football clubs and teams in Syria, any continental and international activity due to the security conditions that the country has been experiencing for almost 11 years, forcing Syrian clubs and teams to play outside of Syria. country in matches scheduled on its territory in all official tournaments.
