Fans of the big team launch a campaign to fund Ronaldo’s deal

Borussia Dortmund fans have launched a campaign to fund the signing of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in light of reports that he wants to leave his club.

Borussia Dortmund are currently looking for a striker following the departure of their top scorer Erling Haaland to Manchester City and the shock he suffered from the injury of their new player, Ivorian Sebastian Haller, with a malignant tumor in the testicles.

According to the Sport 1 website, Borussia Dortmund fans, the Festival Lions, have launched a million dollar campaign to help the club sign Ronaldo.

The campaign aims to raise around €40m so Borussia Dortmund can sign the Portuguese star.

A campaign backer wrote: “Dear Bundesliga and Dortmund fans, Sebastian Haller’s bad prognosis is forcing Dortmund to take it by storm.”

He added: “Based on the situation in Manchester, there is a unique opportunity to bring the best player in the world into the Bundesliga five times.”

Some Festival Lions fans started joining the action this morning, hoping to bring Ronaldo to Signal Iduna Park before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, wants to move to a club that plays in the Champions League this season, according to several press reports available in Dortmund.
