The expert explained that “Russia’s decision regarding START (Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty) takes the US out of its comfort zone, at least in the area of ​​strategic stability,” adding that the US deliberately insists on inspections and implementation of START. all the routine procedures associated with the START-3 treaty in order for the hybrid war against Russia to continue calmly and remain safe.

The expert added that with this treaty, Washington sought to protect itself and convince itself that there was no nuclear threat, and that strategic stability was guaranteed.

According to Suslov, “The US has gone too far in Ukraine in pursuit of its stated goal of trying to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his speech to the Federal Assembly on Tuesday, announced Moscow’s decision to suspend participation in the START treaty, stressing that his country had not withdrawn from the treaty.

The START-3 treaty, signed by Moscow and Washington in 2010, provides for a 30% reduction in the number of intercontinental “nuclear” offensive warheads owned by Russia and the United States, as well as a 50% reduction in the maximum limits on strategic launchers. Based on an equal number of nuclear warheads, and ensuring the security of both countries on an equal footing.
