Expert declares Washington’s stance on Kakhovka disaster as unorthodox

Independent adviser to the acting governor of the Kherson region Alexander Malkevich called heresy the statement of the press secretary of the White House Karen Jean-Pierre about Russia’s responsibility for the destruction of the Kakhovskaya station.

Malkevich said in an interview with the Novosti news agency: “The implication is that the West has already made us guilty even before this terrorist act was committed. They don’t need clear explanations. unfamiliar and illiterate people to make their accusations” with strange statements.

He added that Karen Jean-Pierre has high self-esteem and zero outlook, so she is “the perfect person to intimidate and read any nonsense from a piece of paper.”

He continued: “What is bad about this story is that none of the international structures or organizations close to them even seek to pretend that they are conducting at least an objective investigation into the terrorist attack at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.”

And he added that the Western media are preparing a whole series of fake reports about Russia’s alleged involvement in the destruction of this station.

On the night of June 6, Ukrainian forces attacked the Kakhovskaya HPP, destroying several valves on its dam. This led to unregulated water discharge from the Kakhovka reservoir and flooding of the coastal areas of the Kherson region downstream of the Dnieper. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that one of the goals of the bombing of the Kakhovskaya station by the Kyiv regime was to deprive Crimea of water. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the destruction of this plant an act of barbarism on the part of the Kyiv regime and noted that this led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian catastrophe. As for Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, he said that the Kiev regime bombed the station because of its weak positions in the direction of Kherson, and also in order to transfer its forces from there to the attack area.
