EU nations demand reimbursement for provision of ammunition to Ukraine

A high-ranking European source in Brussels said that the EU countries demanded compensation for the ammunition and missiles delivered to Kyiv in the amount of 650 million euros.

The source said: “We have pledged one billion euros, according to the previously approved plan of the European Union, for the immediate supply of ammunition to Ukraine from the reserves available to the EU countries, and the EU countries have requested compensation for ammunition and missiles that were delivered to Ukraine in the amount of 650 million euros “.

He added that requests for compensation are currently being approved. Stressing that the goal of this plan is “to supply Ukraine with as many (weapons) as possible.”

And the European source continued: “If the requests received from the EU countries exceed the agreed one billion euros, we will have to think about methods of financing.”

Earlier, Russia sent a memorandum to NATO countries on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that any supply of weapons to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia, and the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine .

Lavrov also said that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, “including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel … in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.”

The Kremlin said that the pumping of weapons into Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative impact.
