Eto’o nominates African teams to win World Cup in Qatar

Cameroonian and African football legend Samuel Eto’o believes that one of the teams that will represent Africa in the World Cup final to be held in Qatar can win the world title.

Five African teams will take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, namely Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon.

During an interview with Ghanaian TV3, Eto’o responded to a question about African teams’ chances of winning the World Cup in Qatar, saying, “Why not (African team crowned)! We have great and wonderful countries in football, Senegal. , Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia and Cameroon”.

He continued: “A few years ago, Ghana was close to reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup. If I say it’s possible (the African team won the World Cup). I am African and I love this continent and I want it to always be at its best.”

It is noteworthy that only three African teams reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup, namely Cameroon in the World Cup in Italy in 1990, Ghana in South Africa in 2010,
and Senegal in a joint Japan-South Korea edition in 2002.
