Ethiopia resumes direct flights with Russia

Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia Alemayehu Tegenu said that his country would resume direct flights with Russia from August 23, adding that it is planned to operate up to 3 flights a week.

In a conversation with RIA Novosti, the ambassador said: “We will resume flights from August 23, and there will be 3 flights a week.”

He explained that direct flights between Moscow and the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ethiopian diplomat has previously said that Ethiopian Airlines ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of flights to various destinations, noting that it was this airline that carried cargo from Africa to Russia during the pandemic.
