Estonia. Residents of Narva lay flowers at the monument to the Soviet tank

Tavi Kers, head of the operational group of the Estonian Behiya police, said that last night in Narva passed quietly after the T-34 tank was dismantled and lowered from the monument.

Keres said in an interview today that the number of people gathered at the site of the operation did not exceed 50-60 people.

For their part, local media reported that residents of the city, whose inhabitants are mostly Russian-speaking, brought flowers and candles to the site of the monument.

Keres added in a TV interview: “Actually, the night was relatively calm. We went about our normal daily activities. A lot of people gathered at the Narva tank site, and after one in the morning their activity began to decline, and then it was completely calm. He pointed out that 11 people were detained for various offenses and offenses during the day, but “they will be released after the necessary legal procedures have been carried out.”

On Tuesday morning, the Estonian government announced that it had decided to move the monument to the Soviet tank from Narva to the Estonian War Museum, while other Soviet monuments would be dismantled.

According to Prime Minister Kai Kallas, the tank was removed from Narva for internal security reasons.
