The city of Narva in Estonia is close to declaring a state of emergency due to gas shortages after an energy company was unable to get offers to buy gas.
Novosti agency reported that the tender from Enefit Power, which provides heat supply services to the city of Narva, did not take place due to non-submission of applications for gas supply.
According to the company, the cost of heating next winter is unknown, and it is said: “No one knows yet” how much heating will cost this winter.
But Enefit Power applied already a few months ago for a 78% increase in heating fees in Narva.
