Erdogan: West is reaping what it sowed by imposing sanctions against Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said sanctions and the West’s stance on Russian President Vladimir Putin this winter put the European Union in serious shambles.

Erdogan said at a press conference held on Tuesday at Esenboga airport in the capital Ankara before heading to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first stop of his tour of the Balkans, which also includes Serbia and Croatia: “I think that Europe will face serious and real problems (in terms of gas supplies) this winter, unlike our country, which has no such problems.”

He explained that “Europe is reaping what it has sown, and European sanctions have prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to reciprocate and use all available weapons against Europe.”
