Erdogan: trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina could exceed $1 billion

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expected trade between his country and Bosnia and Herzegovina to exceed $1 billion by the end of this year.

In a speech during his participation in the Bosnian-Turkish business forum in Sarajevo, Erdogan indicated that trade between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 15 percent in the first eight months of this year, reaching $627 million.

He expressed hope that this momentum will continue in the coming months, and expected trade to exceed the $1 billion target by the end of the year, especially since a figure close to that was recorded last year.

Erdogan said that the total investment of Turkish companies that contribute to production, employment and development in Bosnia and Herzegovina is about $300 million.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Tripartite Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Shafik Jafarovic, said that Turkey is a strategic partner for his country in all areas, including the economy, and that it ranks second among the largest foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. .
