Erdogan: Grain carriers leave Ukraine without hindrance

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said ships carrying grain from Ukrainian ports are running smoothly, as part of a grain deal struck in Istanbul last month.

Erdogan said at a meeting with Turkish ambassadors abroad, which took place in Ankara today, on Monday: “Negotiations in Antalya and Istanbul (on Ukraine), unfortunately, did not lead to a ceasefire and stabilization of the situation. efforts. We sought to implement the Grain Corridor Agreement. To ensure global supplies during the food crisis, ships are passing by.”

The Turkish President added: “So far, everything is progressing without serious problems in the issue of the “grain corridor”.

On July 22, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN signed in Istanbul a document on the initiative for the safe shipment of grain and food from Ukrainian ports, which provides for the export of grain stuck in Ukrainian ports through the Black Sea to the world, through a safe passage.
