(EHF) Places in the Russian Champions League are free

The European Handball Federation (EHF) has announced that the places for Russian clubs in the men’s and women’s Champions League for the season (2022-2023) remain vacant.

The press service of the EHF said: “The places allocated to Russia remain vacant, since the decision to suspend the participation of Russian and Belarusian clubs in the European Handball Championships has not changed.”

The final squad for the new season of the European Handball Championship will be announced on June 27.

The European Handball Federation has registered 22 men’s teams and 17 women’s teams for the Champions League next season.

There are no clubs from Russia and Belarus among the registered clubs.

It is reported that on February 28, the European Handball Federation decided to exclude Russian and Belarusian clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine.
