Egypt’s cement exports soar

Egypt’s cement exports increased significantly in the first 9 months of 2022 to a record $502 million compared to $356 million in the same period in 2021, according to a government report.

The monthly report released by the Building Materials Export Council showed that exports were made to 72 countries with an increase of 41%, indicating that cement exports amounted to $336 million in the first half and about $166 million in the third quarter. 2022.

Five African countries controlled 58.3% of Egypt’s total cement exports in the first 9 months of 2022, worth $292,751 million.

Ghana ranked first in the list of largest cement importing countries from Egypt with 21.5% of the total value of exports, while Côte d’Ivoire came in second with a value of $55,135 million, an increase of 6%, accounting for 11%. of the total value of Egypt’s cement exports.

The value of Egypt’s cement exports to Cameroon jumped 329 percent, while cement exports to Sudan rose 44 percent. Meanwhile, Egypt’s cement exports to Libya fell to about $40.5 million, down 26%.
