Egyptian federation "provokes" Al Ahly with a new solution

The Referee Committee of the Egyptian Football Association has decided to appoint Mahmoud Ashour as the VAR referee for the match between Ghazl El Mahalla and the Pyramids, which will take place today, Tuesday, as part of the 30th round of the league.

The decision may represent a provocation to the Al Ahly administration, which a few days ago threatened to withdraw its team from the local cup and super competition following the decision to cancel a goal in the team’s match against Farko in the Egyptian league, accusing referee Mahmoud Ashour of deliberately canceling a goal with using video technology.

Al-Ahly demanded the suspension and investigation of referee Mahmoud Ashour and the dismissal of Essam Abdel-Fattah, head of the refereeing committee, but the Football Association appointed Ashour as video referee for the match between the Pyramids and Ghazl El Mahalla today, Tuesday. , in the Egyptian League.

Al-Ahli demanded on several occasions that the officials of the Egyptian Football Association involve foreign referees to manage its league matches, but the refereeing committee did not comply with his demand and justified this by the refusal of European federations to send their elite referees to manage Egyptian league matches due to their concerns about matches in European leagues and competitions.

Al Ahly is currently third in the Egyptian league with 59 points, 10 points behind leaders Zamalek.
