The Egyptian national handball team won the silver medal at the 2022 Mediterranean Games after losing to their Spanish counterpart in the final match today, Wednesday, in Oran, Algeria.
The Pharaohs team showed a strong performance, but despite this, they lost only one goal with a score (27-28) to the Spanish Matador.
The Egyptian national team failed to win the gold medal, repeating the achievement of 2013, when it defeated its Croatian counterpart in the final.
The Pharaohs team won the silver medal in Oran 2022 for the second time after the first in 1991, losing to their former Yugoslav colleague.
The Egyptian team finished sixth overall in the Mediterranean Games with 51 medals, including 13 gold, 15 silver and 23 bronze.
While Italy topped the medal table with 159 medals, including 48 golds, while Turkey came in second with 108 medals, including 45 golds.
