Egypt.. Mortada Mansour reveals the reason why he was not arrested despite the decision to put him in jail

Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, spoke about the events that have been handed down against him recently, including a month-long jail sentence.

Mortada Mansour confirmed that he was able to stay the execution of the sentence handed down against him due to the existence of a jurisdictional dispute between two rulings on him, the first for a £10,000 fine and the second for his imprisonment.

Last Wednesday, the Egyptian Court of Appeal for Economic Offenses found Mortada Mansour guilty of insulting and slandering the president of the Al-Ahli club, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, and his family, and sentenced the president of Zamalek to a month’s imprisonment with forced labor and the use of force in case of insult and defamation of Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the Al-Ahli Club.

Mortada Mansour emphasized that according to the laws, the judgment will not be enforced, saying in statements to the Zamalek Club TV channel: “I bet with my whole history that if the decisions in the courts of appeal and cassation are not reversed, I will resign the lawyer and President of Zamalek.”
