Dollar breaks records in Egypt

The dollar rose against the pound by about two piastres today, Tuesday, amid anticipation of a meeting of the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee to set an interest rate next Thursday.

The price of the dollar at the Central Bank of Egypt reached 19.38 pounds when buying and 19.48 pounds when selling, while the price of the dollar at the Bank of Misr reached 19.39 pounds when buying and 19.45 pounds when selling. The price of the dollar in the National Bank of Egypt is 19.39 pounds when buying and 19.45 pounds when selling.

At this price, the dollar reaches historic levels against the Egyptian pound for the first time in the country since the liberalization of the exchange rate in 2016.
