The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Iranian cars are not certified in Russia, so their shipment to the country is not yet possible, and the ministry has not yet received any requests on this matter.

In response to a question about the supply of Iranian cars to Russia, the press service of the Russian ministry said: “One of the main conditions for the supply of imported cars, including from Iran, and their operation in Russia is the approval of the car. So far, the cars of Iranian automakers have not been certified.”

The service confirmed that the ministry had not received any requests regarding the approval of Iranian cars in Russia.

Last year, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov said that Iranian automakers are interested in the Russian car market.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexei Dedov pointed out that the Iranian car manufacturer Iran Khodro plans to deliver 2,000 cars to Russia by the end of March next year, and SAIPA is negotiating to export more than 20,000 cars to Russia. annually.
