Disclosure of the date of pouring concrete for the second reactor at the Dabaa nuclear power plant

Amjad Al-Wakil, head of Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plant Authority, has revealed the date for pouring concrete for the second reactor at the 1,200-megawatt Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.

In statements to The Seventh Day newspaper, Amjad Al-Wakil indicated that “according to the agreed timetable for the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, concrete will be poured for the 1,200-megawatt second reactor during November.” .”

Al-Wakil added: “Concrete will be poured for the remaining two 1,200 megawatt reactors for each reactor respectively.”

And he added: “The remaining reactors will operate in sequence to reach full capacity in 2030, bringing the total capacity generated from nuclear power in the national electricity grid to 4,800 megawatts,” explaining that “the 4,800 megawatt Dabaa nuclear power plant is considered environmentally friendly and meets the highest nuclear safety standards, in addition, the project was recognized as the second best project in the world.

The head of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plant Authority added: “The government agreement between Egypt and Russia, represented by the Russian company Rosatom, provides for the construction of reactors for third-generation nuclear power plants, and this generation contains a simple and reliable design that is resistant to operator errors and human error.”
