Deschamps Advises Against Fasting During Ramadan Unlike English Premier League

French newspaper L’Equipe reported that France coach Didier Deschamps had advised his country’s Muslim players to postpone their fast until after the national team’s matches against the Netherlands and Ireland at Euro 2024.

Muslim players in France’s camp will postpone the fast for five days, based on the recommendations of the French coach.

Deschamps had not previously forced his players to break their fast with the French national team, and Deschamps’ Muslim players, led by N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, were reported to have fasted earlier under the French coach.

On the other hand, the English Premier League has decided to observe the fasting of Muslim players during matches during the holy month of Ramadan.

And the Sky Sports network said the league has asked referees at all levels of the league to allow players to break their fast during evening matches during the holy month of Ramadan.
