DeSantis Announces Presidential Bid

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has told his inner circle that he will run for the 2024 U.S. presidential election later this year.

And while DeSantis, 44, has not publicly said he will run in the 2024 presidential race, The Washington Post reported that in recent private conversations with allies, the governor called his candidacy a win-win.

However, DeSantis, who was overwhelmingly re-elected as governor last November, is expected to announce his candidacy only after the Florida State Legislature closes in May.

According to the newspaper, preparations for his expected presidential election have come a long way. An independent political commission on spending by DeSantis supporters, set up by former Trump administration official Ken Cuccinelli, is expected to become the approved external spending mechanism for the DeSantis campaign in 2024.

NEVER BACK DOWN PAC Cucinelli is one of four political action committees seeking to support DeSantis’ entry into the 2024 presidential race.
