Hundreds of German citizens took to the streets of German cities in protest against the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
In the German city of Kassel, demonstrators blocked the entrance to the Rheinmetall Corporation arms factory.
The local police had to use tear gas and batons against the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, German Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Svenja Schulze said that Germany would provide 200 million euros in financial assistance to support displaced Ukrainians.
“Most of our new aid should be spent on the Ukrainian government’s program to support displaced people,” Schulze said in an interview with the Funke media group published today, Sunday.
She added: “I will talk to the Prime Minister (Denys Shmyhal) about how we can support the government of Ukraine in providing for the refugees. We are talking about providing housing, warmth, clothing and medicines.”
Today, Sunday, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyal will visit Berlin.
