Date officially set for charity match between Barcelona and Manchester City

Barcelona have officially announced the date of the friendly charity match that will bring them against Manchester City in connection with the start of the new 2022-2023 season.

Barcelona president Juan Laporta revealed at a press conference on Monday in the presence of Manchester City’s Spanish coach Pep Guardiola that a friendly match between the two teams will take place on 24 August.

The match will take place at 22:00 Mecca time.

The match between Barcelona and Manchester City will take place at the Camp Nou in solidarity with Juan Carlos Unsue, former Barcelona player and administrator.

Juan Anzuri suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and this charity match will be held, in which all funds will go to help find intensive treatment to fight this disease.
For his part, Josep Guardiola has confirmed that the Manchester City side will come to Camp Nou with all their stars, including Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva, who has recently been linked with a Barcelona signing.

Notably, Pep Guardiola will face his former Barcelona player, Javi Hernandez, who recently took over the technical management of the Catalan team for the first time.
