Czech Republic announces EU agreement on assistance to Ukraine for 18 billion euros

The Czech Republic, which currently chairs the Council of the European Union, announced that representatives of the EU countries have reached an agreement on a financial assistance package for Ukraine in the amount of 18 billion euros.

The Czech Mission to the European Union tweeted that the country’s delegates “generally agreed on an €18 billion aid package for Ukraine, a tax on large companies of at least 15 percent, ratification of Hungary’s plan for recovery and stability, and agreement on terms.”

On December 10, the Council of the European Union approved the provision of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 18 billion euros in 2023 in the form of a loan for a period of 10 years.
