Congress set a condition for the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey

The US House of Representatives passed an amendment to the defense budget, limiting the supply of American F-16 fighters to Turkey.

The amendment includes guarantees that aircraft will not be used to attack Greek airspace.

244 members of Congress voted in favor of the amendment, 179 deputies voted against.

The House of Representatives is due to vote Thursday on a defense budget of about $850 billion.

Subsequently, it will have to be approved by the Senate, after which both chambers will have to develop a consolidated version of the draft budget.
