An engaged couple was recently surprised when they received congratulations on their engagement from PlayStation itself. The pair shared their experience with fellow fans online, and while reactions are mixed, many seem to be charmed by the idea of the company reaching out.

According to the user, they and their significant other ordered engagement announcements to send to friends and family but ended up with a surplus. Rather than just letting them go to waste, they started sending them out to companies they were involved with or fond of in some way, including Sony. The couple didn’t expect to hear anything back but were surprised to discover a response from PlayStation in their mailbox.
While simple, the card reads “Congratulations” and “Thank you for sharing your accomplishments with us.” The card includes the image of a PlayStation trophy and the PlayStation logo and slogan at the base of the card. It doesn’t appear to be signed by anyone from the company itself, but the couple nonetheless seems to be pleased with it. It’s a neat souvenir celebrating an impending marriage that few can say they have.
Many congratulated the couple and claimed to be charmed or impressed by Sony’s response. Others shared their tales of contacting gaming companies in the past and occasionally even receiving a reply or a small gift in the mail. Nothing is guaranteed, but gamers who have thought about writing a fan letter to their preferred game studio in the past might want to give it a shot because they might be pleasantly surprised.
