CIS Countries’ Council of Permanent Representatives Takes a Stand Against Historical Distortion

The Council of Permanent Representatives of the CIS countries declared its absolute rejection of any attempts to distort and distort the results of the Second World War.

The Council expressed hope for the early resumption of a large-scale international dialogue in order to strengthen international security.

A press release from the Council on the occasion of the celebration of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War stated: “Any attempts to revise or distort the results of the Second World War, attempts to rehabilitate and glorify the Nazis and their accomplices, deny war crimes and crimes against humanity that they commit, never may be accepted.”

The Council expressed support for “the lessons learned from the Second World War to remain a moral guide for the international community and serve as a warning against global conflicts and wars that are devastating to humanity. We look forward to the early resumption of a large-scale international dialogue aimed at strengthening the system of international security and trust between states in order to prevent and eliminate threats to peace on the basis of respect for the universally recognized norms and principles of international law.

The Council indicated that it intended to promote in every possible way the dissemination of objective information about the events of the period of the Great Patriotic War, the preservation of the historical heritage associated with them.
