Official data showed that China’s electronic information industry sector recorded a steady increase in production during the first ten months of this year.
Xinhua reports that the combined value-added of large companies, each generating at least 20 million yuan (about $2.8 million) in annual business income in the sector, increased by 9.5% year-on-year over this period. , an increase of 5.5 percentage points and 0.8 percentage points from the industry as a whole and the advanced manufacturing sector, respectively, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The sector’s export value rose 6 percent year on year from January to October, down 0.4 percentage points from the first nine months.
Companies in the sector gradually recovered their total operating income during the first 10 months, up 8.4% year-over-year to 12.45 trillion yuan.
Investment in the sector also showed rapid growth from January to October, with fixed investment up 20.8 percent year on year, 10 percentage points higher than the industry as a whole.
