China Explains G7 What It Really Means"international community"

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian reminded his followers on Twitter that the people of the G7 countries are only part of the global community.

Legian published a picture showing that the population of the BRICS countries is about 3.2 billion people, while the number of people living in the G7 countries is much smaller – only 777 million people.

“The next time you talk about the ‘international community’, remember what it really means,” the diplomat added.

The G7 is an alliance of seven economically developed countries, which includes the United States of America, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, France, Italy and Canada. The G7 summit, led by Germany, is taking place in the Bavarian castle of Elmau. It started on Sunday and will end on Tuesday. The summit was attended by the leaders of five countries: India, Indonesia, South Africa, Senegal and Argentina.

BRICS is an economic bloc founded in 2006. It includes Russia, China, Brazil, India and South Africa. On Monday, it became known that Iran applied for membership in the BRICS, and Argentina, in turn, announced its intention to join the bloc.
