China and France strengthen their pledge to avert nuclear war

China and France reaffirmed their commitment to preventing nuclear war and an arms race.

And Xinhua News Agency reported, citing a joint statement by Paris and Beijing, “China and France reaffirmed their support for the joint statement of China, France, Russia, Britain and the United States on the prevention of nuclear war and an arms race, issued on January 3, 2022.”

French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in China on an official visit.

Earlier, Macron said that no country under any circumstances can place nuclear weapons on foreign territory.
