Nine people died as a result of a mountain collapse on Saturday in northwest China’s Gansu province.
China’s Xinhua news agency reported that local authorities confirmed that the avalanche came down around 11:15 am in Jingtai County, Baiyin City.
The agency clarified that of the 17 people involved in the accident, 9 were killed and 7 were injured.
Authorities added that one person is still missing and search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
