Chelsea announce the departure of Petr Cech

Chelsea announced today, Monday, the departure of Peter Cech, the London club’s technical adviser, from his position effective 30 June.

In their official statement, the Blues added: “Since his appointment 3 years ago, Čech has provided advice and guidance on all matters relating to football and the entire club, while strengthening the bond between the men’s teams and the academy.”

“I’m proud to have played this role at Chelsea in recent years, but I feel it’s time to retire with a new owner,” Cech said.

He added: “I am pleased that Chelsea are now in a great position with new owners and I am confident in their future success on and off the pitch.”

Club president Todd Buhle said: “Peter Cech is an important member of the Chelsea family. We understand his decision to leave and thank him for his contribution as an advisor and his commitment to the club. We wish him all the best.”
