The speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, stressed that Russia must defend its sovereignty in the conditions when NATO is at war with it in the hands of Ukraine.
“If we talk about what is happening in Ukraine, then Russia did not fight. This is the West, this is NATO fighting with Russia at the hands of the Ukrainians. Therefore, we had to do everything to protect our sovereignty and security,” Matvienko. This was reported by the Belarusian TV channel STV.
And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier, during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Germany, considered that attempts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine would now help instability in the world.
He added that Johnson and Macron indicated the need to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine to strengthen the position of Kyiv on the battlefield and “in the course of the upcoming negotiations, and also promised to strengthen their efforts in this direction.”
