Dozens of Iranians gathered in downtown Tehran and burned American and Israeli flags to reject US President Joe Biden’s visit to the Middle East.
The crowd chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” as is customary at anti-American demonstrations in Iran.
The demonstrators also protested the normalization of relations between Israel and many Arab countries that began under the previous US administration.
Biden stressed at a regional summit hosted by Saudi Arabia that “the United States will not give up the security of the Middle East or leave a vacuum that Russia, China or Iran might try to fill.”
