British Attorney General does not rule out her candidacy for the post of Prime Minister

UK Attorney General Swella Braverman has confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson should step down and has indicated she does not rule out running for prime minister in the future.

In a statement to ITV, she said: “I really think it’s time for Prime Minister Johnson to step down.”

In response to a question about the possibility of a prime ministerial nomination, she said: “Yes, I will … it would be a great honor to be prime minister, so yes, I will try.”

For his part, UK Housing Minister Michael Gove urged Johnson to resign, which led to the latter’s dismissal from his position.

Johnson told Cabinet members that he would not resign as he believed it could lead to political instability.

British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and Health Minister Sajid Javid announced their resignations, after which 5 more ministers, 10 deputy ministers and a number of civil servants left, while others demanded the resignation of Boris Johnson.
