A BRITISH Airways aircraft has caught fire on the runway of Las Vegas airport. All passengers and crew evacuated safely as the Boeing 777-200 erupted in a cloud of smoke.
The fire, at McCarran International Airport, started as British Airways Flight 2276 moved out on the tarmac in preparation for a flight for london.
There were 159 passengers and 13 crew on board.
Black smoke was seen coming from the plane as it lurched to a halt and its emergency evacuation slides were deployed.
Two people have been transported to hospital with what are reported as minor injuries.
