Britain intends to compete with Russia for influence in Africa, Asia and Latin America

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said that London wants to compete with Russia for influence in Asia, Africa and Latin America, as it will develop long-term strategies for developing relations with it.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said in a statement on Saturday evening that the UK will develop long-term strategies to develop relations with countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Cleverly said: “In the coming decades, a large share of the world economy, and therefore strength, will come from the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, and the UK’s proposal to develop relations with these countries will be based on their interests and the strengths of the UK in the field of trade, investment, defense, technology and climate change”. It will be supported by a reliable source of infrastructure investment.”
“We will demonstrate strategic flexibility, a willingness to work for the long term and look ahead 10 to 20 years,” Cleverly said.

The statement notes that Cleverley, who took office on September 6, will make his first major speech in London on December 12 in his current position, which will focus on the need to build long-term foreign policy strategies.

It was emphasized that Cleverly would point to the importance of “building future partnerships that will strengthen the global principles, rules and institutions that have provided an unprecedented period of peace and relative prosperity more than at any time in history.”
