EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell announced that the EU plans to launch a mission to train the Ukrainian army in mid-October, but stressed its readiness to seek a diplomatic solution to the crisis there.
“At the same time, we remain ready to seek a diplomatic solution, if conditions permit, in a constructive manner,” Borrell said.
“I hope we can officially start our mission to train Ukrainian forces at the next meeting of EU foreign ministers on October 17,” he added.
