Adobe Analytics reports that Americans spent $9.12 billion in online sales on Black Friday.

The company indicated that this figure is 2.3% more than it was last year, and exceeded the previous record of $9.03 billion, which was recorded in 2020.

Sales of electronic goods were up 221% from the average day in October 2022, while sales of children’s toys and sports equipment were up 285% and 218%, respectively.

Nearly half (48%) of Black Friday online purchases were made using smartphones, with the use of payment deferral apps up 78% from the previous week.

“While Black Friday broke the online spending record, we are also seeing increasingly clear signs of lean consumer behavior,” said Vivek Pandya, chief analyst at the company.

On Black Friday after Thanksgiving, American stores have big sales and offer big discounts.

US analysts are expecting brighter results from online sales on Cyber ​​Monday. According to Adobe Analytics, its volume will reach $11.2 billion, which is 5.1% more than last year.
