US President Joe Biden, in a statement on the change of British Prime Minister, said that the US and the UK will maintain a unified approach to supporting Ukraine against Russia.
“The UK and the United States are our closest friends and allies, and we maintain a firm and united approach to supporting the Ukrainian people and holding Russia accountable for its actions,” Biden said.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace was elected chairwoman of the UK Conservative Party on Monday and she met with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who ordered her to form a government as the new prime minister.
