Biden explained in an op-ed he wrote ahead of his expected tour of the Middle East, which was published by The Washington Post, that, among other things, the Saudi Arabian authorities are working with the US administration to increase oil supplies to the world market and lower oil prices.

The US President also indicated that the goal of his meeting with Saudi Arabian leaders next Friday is to strengthen and develop “a strategic partnership based on common interests and responsibilities, while maintaining a commitment to core American values.”
