US President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that he has not yet decided whether he will run in the upcoming presidential election to win a second term, while highlighting his ability to defeat Donald Trump.
In an interview with CNN, Biden said that after the midterm legislative elections scheduled for next November, “I will be involved in the decision-making process” regarding the 2024 election.
He emphasized that if he had to face his Republican predecessor in the upcoming election, “I think I can beat Donald Trump again.”
In response to a question about whether he considers his old age a prerequisite for his candidacy for a second term, Biden has vehemently defended his ability to perform his duties.
“Name a president who has done as much in recent history as I did in the first two years of my term,” he added.
Biden, who is celebrating his 80th birthday this year, is the oldest president in US history.
