Beijing: Sino-Russian naval exercise demonstrates two countries’ resolve to maintain global stability

The Chinese Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that the Naval Interaction 2022 naval exercise demonstrated the resolve of Russia and China to maintain global and regional peace and stability.

“The navies of the two countries have demonstrated the resolve and ability of China and Russia to jointly strengthen the response to maritime security threats and maintain international and regional peace and stability,” Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Tang Qifei said at a briefing on Thursday.

The spokesman stressed that the exercise “contributed to all-round strategic cooperation between China and Russia in the new era.”

The Russian-Chinese naval exercises “Naval Interaction” were held from December 21 to 27 in the East China Sea.

Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that the joint Russian-Chinese naval and aviation exercises are a natural response to the buildup of US forces in the region.
