Before leaving for Damascus, Iranian Foreign Minister reveals the purpose of his visit to Syria

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahyan stressed that the purpose of his visit to Syria is “to establish peace and security in the region.”

Before leaving for Damascus, Hussein Amir Abdollahyan said: “In continuation of my visit to Turkey 4 days ago, it was necessary to hold consultations with the Syrian authorities.”

Amir Abdullahyan added: “Events are taking place in the region, and we must strive to ensure the constructive role of the Islamic Republic in the region and prevent a new crisis in the region.”

And he added: “Part of my visit to Syria is aimed at establishing peace and security in the region between Syria and Turkey, since these two countries have important relations with Iran.”
