A player from each team and Barcelona coach Xavi was ruled out in the match as referee Cesar Soto Grado issued a direct red card to Barcelona star Rafinha in the 42nd minute for attacking Getafe player Gaston Alvarez without the ball and second Red card in the face of Getafe striker Jaime Mata for receiving a foul Second warning in the 57th minute.
Xavi was also sacked for protesting that the referee did not allow a foul on substitute Moroccan striker Abdel Samad Al Zalzouli in the 70th minute.
