Russians and Belarusians were banned from participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon due to a Russian special operation in Ukraine, according to the competition website.
Russians and Belarusians living abroad will be able to participate in the race, but will not be allowed to compete under the flag of Russia or Belarus.
The 127th Boston Marathon will take place on April 17.
