According to press reports, former German football star Michael Ballack is in a romantic relationship with young model Sophia Schneiderhahn, the girlfriend of his son Emilio, who died less than a year ago in Portugal.
German newspaper Bild reported that Ballack, 45, is dating Sophia Schneiderhahn, 21, a girlfriend of his son who died last year at the age of 18 in a tragic accident.
The newspaper pointed out that Ballack and Schneiderhan were seen exchanging kisses in public places, which confirms the existence of an emotional relationship between them.
It takes place a few months after Emilio’s death when his ATV rolled over and crushed him after losing control of it following a family barbecue at Ballack’s vacation home.
Emilio was the middle son of the Ballack family and the son of his then-girlfriend Simon Lambie, whom the former player married in 2008, but they separated in 2012.
Those close to Ballack and Schneiderhan told Bild that they think their relationship is good and that they are not bothered by the 24-year age difference between them.
Ballack is one of the biggest stars in German football and has starred with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga besides Chelsea and has made 98 appearances for Germany, scoring 42 goals, but he didn’t achieve a single title with Manchester before he retired from playing in 2012.
