Authorities Discover Drugs Hidden in Stomach of Woman Claiming Pregnancy

US authorities arrested two people who tried to smuggle some drugs by placing them in a fake belly that looked like the woman was pregnant.

South Carolina authorities arrested Anthony Miller and Simika Mitchum for attempted drug smuggling last April after their car was nearly hit by a truck.

At the time, Mitcham appeared pregnant, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department said, but the couple gave conflicting information about when she would give birth when questioned.

A police statement said that Miller tried to escape after spotting Mitchum, whose fake stomach dropped the drugs as she fled.

According to police, 1,500 grams of cocaine were found in the fake stomach, prompting authorities to stop two people to complete the necessary investigations into such crimes.
